Fall Family Day....

It's almost November and the weather here has been amazing.  We know that these gorgeous weekends are almost numbered, so we had to take advantage of the weather this weekend and take a trip to the zoo.  We got there about 30 minutes after opening.  I expected the place to be packed but shockingly it wasn't too crowded.  We were able to walk right up to all the attractions and walk directly onto all the rides.

Stopping for some photo ops....

We were actually able to ride the skyline for the first time.  It was an experience.  There was actually an orangutan entertaining us the entire time.  He basically followed us around during our ride.  The girls loved it!

We walked right on to the roller coaster.  Due to lack of people, the attendants let us ride it twice in a row.

We also fed the birds.  Addison was a little hesitant at first but warmed up to it.  I love that I was able to capture her facial expression in the above photo.  The girls are actually holding a stick that has bird food on the end.  The birds fly right up to you to eat.

Alexis was all about this.  She could have stayed in the bird house all day.

Notice the photo bomb?

Of course, no trip would be complete without a ride on the carousel.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of Addison since she was with her Dad on the other side of the ride.

Alexis wanted to feed the birds again so we did.

After the zoo, we decided to go to the Old Spaghetti Factory for a late lunch.  The girls were happy that we got to sit in the trolley again.  I was shocked that we were able to walk right in with zero wait.

And we ended the amazing day with a little work in the yard.  Well, I worked the girls played.  :-)

Random October Post.....

So it's been awhile since I've posted.  We've had a busy October.  Between soccer practice, soccer games and all the makeup soccer games due to rain we've been a little crazy.  We've also been enjoying this unseasonably warm October and spending as much time outside as possible.  Here is a random hodge podge of what we've been up to.....

For Terry's 50th Birthday, the girls and I got him the "be the chef" experience at a local Japanese steakhouse.  Terry got to train with a hibachi chef and cook dinner for the entire family.  It was a really fun experience for all of us.

We are still on the hunt for the perfect little furry friend to add to our family....Haven't found the right fit yet.

More soccer pictures....

I really can't believe how good the girls are.  While I'm sure I am extremely bias, they are a million times better than they were last fall when they started playing.

There is a nursery just down the street from our house.  A few weeks ago they had a small fall festival.  We rode our bikes the mile down the street to attend.

Last weekend, we joined our neighbors and their two girls at a different fall festival (Oktoberfest).  The girls had a blast getting their faces painted, playing with farm animals and taking some horse rides.
