2016 Christmas Pictures....

On November 27th, 2016 we had pictures taken of the girls for our Christmas cards.  Little did we know that one of these photos is going to make them famous.  We were contacted the week after our photos were done asking if the studio could buy back the rights to a specific picture to use in their global marketing campaign in 2017.  Since I no longer own that photo it is not posted here.....but if you received our Christmas card this year, it's the front photo!

Here are some of my favs.....

Second Arm Surgery for Alexis....

On Monday, December 19th we returned to the hospital for Alexis to have the rod removed from her arm.  We left our house bright and early at 4:45am in order to be at the hospital by 5:30.  I wasn't sure how the traffic would be as well as the road conditions.  We arrived at 5:20 and was almost immediately taken back from prep.

Alexis changed into her hospital gown and had her arm marked.  She absolutely hates this process.  She doesn't understand it and hates that it takes almost 10 days for the marker to come off.

Despite the marker, she smiled through the whole process.  Ignore her bed head.  I literally woke her up like 5 minutes before we were leaving.  She went to the bathroom, brushed her teeth and quickly brushed her hair.

Still smiling even as the wheeled her off to surgery.

It took her a little bit to wake up, but she was still smiling.

We got home a little before 10am.  She jumped into my bed for a short nap.  She only slept for about 90 minutes and was awake and ready for lunch.  She really has been so brave throughout this entire process.  As I type this, we are four days post surgery.  We've removed the wrap and she only has a little butterfly bandage over her stitches.  The first day after removing the wrap she was struggling slightly to move her arm.....that has since went away and I have to constantly remind her that she still has stitches and she needs to take it easy.  Hopefully in another week those stitches will be gone and we can regain normal activities.

Breakfast with Santa....

On Saturday, December 17th, we braved the weather and had breakfast with the big guy.  I wish I had taken more photos.  Santa was great, but Alexis said he really needs a haircut.  I have to agree! :-)

Catching up....

So I've been neglecting this here blog for awhile.  Things have been a little crazy around here.  Stand by for several updates in the next day or two.   This post is just a little hodge podge of pictures.....
Some sassiness on Thanksgiving day!

Cousins:  L to R Back row: Amelia, Georgia, Oliver, Lila & Greta

Terry and I had the opportunity to attend the Colts game on the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving.

Our Elf "Joe" came back again this year.  Here are just a couple things he's been up to.  He also had surgery on his arm the same day Alexis did.  (More on that in an upcoming post)

We randomly ran into this Santa at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago.

And last but not least.... Here are 75 cookies that the girls made and decorated.

School Luau 2016....

Just a few random pictures I took at the girl's school luau.  Such a cute event and the schools number one fund raiser for the year.  It's rather nice that they do this so the kids don't have to sell stuff that people don't want/need.

Fall Family Day....

It's almost November and the weather here has been amazing.  We know that these gorgeous weekends are almost numbered, so we had to take advantage of the weather this weekend and take a trip to the zoo.  We got there about 30 minutes after opening.  I expected the place to be packed but shockingly it wasn't too crowded.  We were able to walk right up to all the attractions and walk directly onto all the rides.

Stopping for some photo ops....

We were actually able to ride the skyline for the first time.  It was an experience.  There was actually an orangutan entertaining us the entire time.  He basically followed us around during our ride.  The girls loved it!

We walked right on to the roller coaster.  Due to lack of people, the attendants let us ride it twice in a row.

We also fed the birds.  Addison was a little hesitant at first but warmed up to it.  I love that I was able to capture her facial expression in the above photo.  The girls are actually holding a stick that has bird food on the end.  The birds fly right up to you to eat.

Alexis was all about this.  She could have stayed in the bird house all day.

Notice the photo bomb?

Of course, no trip would be complete without a ride on the carousel.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of Addison since she was with her Dad on the other side of the ride.

Alexis wanted to feed the birds again so we did.

After the zoo, we decided to go to the Old Spaghetti Factory for a late lunch.  The girls were happy that we got to sit in the trolley again.  I was shocked that we were able to walk right in with zero wait.

And we ended the amazing day with a little work in the yard.  Well, I worked the girls played.  :-)
