Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving from our house to yours!!!

He are a few pictures of my little turkeys.....

The girls made these turkeys at school last week.  Aren't they adorable?

Last Saturday at the library, they had turkey story time.  Alexis latched onto the turkey puppet and wouldn't let it go.  She was mad when we had to leave "Turkey Tom" and go home.

Hope everyone has a fantastic holiday!  As always, we here in the Smith household have a ton to be thankful for!!

Photographers....

A few years ago the girls got their own toy digital cameras for Christmas.  They play with them in spurts.  I will go months without seeing them take a photo and then all of the sudden I hear "say cheese" or "smile pretty" 85 times a day.

Over the weekend, Addison decided she was going to do a "shoot" with her sister.  She kept telling her to smile, or turn your head this way, or wink at me.  It was pretty funny.  Here are the pictures Addison captured of her sister (well, the photos that aren't completely blurry):

I think this was the "wink at me" photo??

And yes, I know.....it's time to take down the Halloween decorations!!

Tornado Party......

Last Sunday (11-17-13), we had numerous tornado's here in Indiana. I believe the final count was upwards of 24.  We were very lucky to have sustained very minimal damage.  Our house was on the cusp of the storms.  It was so creepy to look out the window and see completely clear and sunny skies to the north and almost black eerie sky's to the south.

The tornado sirens were going off for probably two hours straight.  The girls were pretty excited to hang out in the basement and play.  After the sirens stopped, we came upstairs but were still on high alert since more storms were about to blow through.

So what do you do during tornado lock down?  Make-Overs of course...

Terry got his hair curled and styled, several hundred times.  P.S.  If you see him...don't tell him I posted these pictures.  He will kill me!!

We also look for rainbows.... I think we counted 5 different rainbows.  They were so beautiful even with the creepy skies as a background.

Bossy!

Over the past week or so, I've been receiving messages from my bossy sister that look something like this:

  • It is time to update the blog. I need pictures.
  • Update the blog!

Yeah well,  I hate to say that I have taken zero pictures over the last week.  Actually, that is a lie....here is the one and only picture that I took via my cell this week:

I took this photo to send to Terry showing him what I needed him to get while at the grocery store on a quick milk run.  We have gotten some kind of cold/flu bug that has hit our house pretty hard.  Today is actually the first day that I feel like my head isn't going to explode or my throat doesn't feel like it is on fire.

The girls have bounced back fairly quickly, but this bug has clean knocked me on my rump!

To my bossy sister:  I hope to return to my regularly scheduled blog posting soon!
Keep your pants on!!!  Love you!!!  :-)

Halloween 2013....

I promised the girls that they could chose their own costumes this year.  Both my girls picked boy costumes, but hey....we roll with it around here!

Halloween was moved from Thursday to Friday in our town this year, due to the inclement weather.  It was quite the controversy around here but,  I couldn't have been more excited!  This allowed us more time to trick or treat without having to get home and prep for school the next day.  I vote that every year Halloween be celebrated on the Friday after!!

I will let the pictures tell the story....

Alexis was so in love with her Spider-Man costume!!

Our pumpkins!

Spidey & Sulley

Love them!!

Spidey VS. Sulley

So cute!! But totally posed!

Daddy's creepy pumpkin!

The girls, especially Addison, were totally into checking out how everyone else had carved their pumpkins.

We always take a picture against one of our neighbors ivy.  It's way more beautiful, than captured in this photo!

The girls seriously had a great time!!

Pumpkin Night At School....

On Wednesday evening of this week, the girls pre-school hosted a pumpkin carving night.  The girls were so excited to carve their pumpkins.

Alexis decided that she was going to work with me and that she wanted to carve a kitty into her pumpkin.  This was the original idea she wanted:

It didn't quite turn out the way we had hoped but still looks cute!

Addison decided she was going to work with Terry and that she wanted to do a Caillou pumpkin.  Not sure where the idea came from?  We couldn't find any Caillou stencils, so Terry decided to wing it.  You can see in the above (and below) photos what the original Caillou looked like.

After we got home Terry continued to "sculpt" his masterpiece.  Caillou somehow transitioned into a Shrek pumpkin.....a REALLY CREEPY looking Shrek!  :-)

It seriously looks so creepy.  Although, I can not wait to see it lit up at night!!
