Tourists.....

On our way back from the STL after Thanksgiving, we were looking for some place different to stop and stretch our legs.  A new sign on our route caught my eye..... "World's Largest Wind Chime".  We thought what the heck!!   It was nearly 70 degrees outside and we just wanted a place that the girls could run.   I can't say that we will make this a regular stop, but it was definitely something different to see.  Despite the cloudy skies, it was nice to get out and get some fresh air.

The girls thought it was pretty cool that we could actually pull the rope and make the chimes hit each other to make noise.

Across the street, this is being built.

The girls wanted a photo on the chair being built.

Might have to go back on more time once we know the chair is completed.

Love....

I love when I find my girls playing together peacefully.

Last night I was cleaning up after dinner and found the girls reading to each other in a box.

Holes in the head.....

For a long while now, the girls have been asking to get their ears pierced.....mainly Alexis.  When we found out we were having girls, Terry and I both talked about having their ears pierced as infants.  Then came our NICU stay and we decided differently.  I've gone back and forth about it for awhile and decided that the girls are finally old enough to take care of them mainly on their own.  When I was younger I remember my Aunt taking me to get my ears pierced.  My sister graciously offered to take the girls.  So, the Friday after Thanksgiving (11-28-14) we took the girlies to the mall to get their ears done.  I was absolutely shocked at how well they did!!!  Here are some videos and photos:

They both are so proud of their new "diamond" earrings.

Disguise the Turkey.....

We've been really struggling with homework at our house lately.  If anyone has any advice I'm all ears.  With two different sets of homework, two different spelling word lists, two different sight word lists......it's been a bit of a struggle to keep everyone doing what they need to be doing every evening!!!

Last week I was pleasantly surprised that the girls homework was a FUN project.....we still had spelling words and sight words to work on, but we also got to do something fun!!!!

Alexis' project came home Monday evening.  "Please help decorate our classroom bulletin board for Thanksgiving.  Attached is a Thanksgiving turkey.  Please help disguise the turkey so that the farmer's can not find them for Thanksgiving dinner".

Here is the turkey we have to "disguise".

Alexis was pretty fired up about this project.  My original thinking was we would slap some stickers, glue, sparkles, etc on this thing and be done with it.  NOPE!!!  My little peanut was fairly adamant that she wanted to put a "spiderman costume" on her turkey.   How the heck am I going to work that out???   Thanks to the internet...Google saved the day!!!!!  And here is what a turkey wearing a spiderman disguise looks like.......

I'm pretty bummed that I didn't take a picture of Alexis with her spiderman turkey.  But I think he turned out pretty neat!!  Alexis did cut out the feathers herself and did most of the coloring, with the exception of the spider in the middle.

Wednesday evening Addison came home with the same identical project.  Big shocker that she also wanted to do something a little out of the ordinary.  Once again.....Google to the rescue!!!!   Have you ever seen a turkey in a Mickey Mouse disguise???

Both girls were super proud of their creations!!

I really have no clue how my parents helped with homework prior to the internet!!!

Halloween 2014.....

Thanks to this weather on Halloween, we have all been slightly under the weather.  Thus, the delay in posting these photos......

(yes that's snow!!!)

About twenty minutes into our trick or treating, both girls were asking to go home because it was too cold.  Despite the weather both girls got a TON of candy.  Because of the nasty conditions a lot of our neighbors were just looking to unload their candy because not many kids were out.

Regardless, my little Anna and Olaf looked super cute!!!

This is the only photo I took while we were actually out.  It was just too cold.  BRRR!!  I'm so not ready for winter!!!

Alexis thought these plastic teeth she got from one of our neighbors were hysterical. Even a week later, she is still randomly walking around with them in her mouth.

Friendly Feast....

Last Sunday, (10-26-14) we took the girls to the Friendly Feast at the Children's Museum....  Complete with a boo-fet for lunch, fingernail painting, a lights on haunted house and a bunch of games.  The girls had a great time, although I hate to say; this might be our last year as I think they may be getting a little too old for this event.  (Insert sad face here....)

Here are a few pictures from the Friendly Feast....

I asked for scary faces....and this is what I got.

Nail painting....always a hit with my two!

Addison insisted I take a picture of her spider ring.

Fall Fun.....

What started out as helping Mom rake the yard......

Quickly escaladed into something more fun......

Can you see Addison in that pile of leaves??

Where's Addison?

Playing in the leaves was definitely more fun than raking the leaves!!

Yes, there are a billion photos on this post.....but a couple photos didn't come close to showing how much fun we had with a simple pile of leaves.  Sometimes the best fun is the fun that you make yourself!!
