First Zoo Trip.....

Last Saturday we made an impromptu trip to the zoo!  The girls received a membership to our insanely expensive zoo for their birthday.  Awesome gift!  One trip to the zoo for a family of four would have cost us over $60 without food, and that even include the girls being free.  Love the fact that we can go whenever we feel like it now!!  The weather was halfway decent, the kiddos were in good moods, so we decided to load them up and head off to the zoo.  This was the girls first time at the zoo.  I can't tell you how amazing it was to see the zoo through the eyes of my two year olds.  They were more and more excited with every animal we saw.

I'm not sure why, but both girls LOVE elephants.  The sky started to cloud up and it began to look like rain.  We wanted to make sure that we definitely saw the elephants before we left.  Sadly the only pictures we took were of the elephants, but I seriously can't tell you how cool it was to watch them take in the scenery.

Before they really realized that the elephant was there.

Addison spotting the elephant for the first time.

While we were watching the elephants through this little viewing window, the large male elephant (yes, it was obvious it was a male) pooped.  Not to be graphic, but If you have ever seen an elephant do #2 it's a pretty large, disgusting mess.  The girls though this was pretty funny.  They keep saying ewwww, elephant poop.  Now whenever you ask them about their trip to the zoo, the only thing they will tell you about their visit is....elephant poop poop!

Very strategically I'm sure, the exit of the zoo is placed in a gift shop.  You have to walk through the gift shop to leave.  The girls proclaimed their love for these stuffed elephants.  I couldn't tell them no, since it was their first trip to the zoo.  Next time we may have to reevaluate our exit strategy.  The girls are still carrying around their elephants.  Addison even pretends that her elephant is pooping.  Nice huh?
