Dinner Outside.....

Are y'all sick of me and my posts about how beautiful our weather has been??  Well, If you are... too bad!  Here comes another:

Last night the weather was so gorgeous that the girls suggested eating dinner outside.  I has happy to oblige!  Terry was cooking on the grill while the girls and I were playing in the yard.  It only made sense to stay out and enjoy the beautiful evening!

Loving Life....

I know I have said this numerous times over the last week or so, but we are LOVING the weather here in Indiana right now!  Our A/C has been off for well over a week and the way the 10 day forecast looks, it appears we are going to be able to keep it off.

The girls are loving the fact that we are spending more time outdoors lately.  Their only complaint is that they have run out of room to draw.  We might have to pull out the hose if it doesn't rain soon!

My only complain is that their clothes have become slightly harder to wash recently.  But I honestly, wouldn't change one minute of it!!

Addison has drawn probably close to 50 circles on the driveway.

Alexis asked me to make her a star.

And the letter A.

If you look closely at this photo, you can see that Addison has written her name....with what she calls "train tracks" around it.  And of course, her infamous backwards "S".  No matter what I do I can't get that backwards "S" to go away!

Alexis drew herself.  Again, you have to look close.  The two circles towards the bottom are from where she traced her shoes....the blue legs/body etc.

Alexis was awful proud of her rainbow.

And of course, chalk outlines!  Alexis added her own face and hair.

Dig into reading....

Wednesday evening (July 31st), the girls had their summer reading program finale party.

The theme this year was "Dig into Reading", so it was only appropriate to have some "digging devices" available for the kiddos to play with.  For having two girlie girls, I gotta say....they were in love with the big truck and tractors.

And of course a little face/hand painting.

Once again, another fabulous event hosted by our local library!!!

Saturday in the park....

Our July here in Indiana has been unusually cool.  I am loving it, and the girls are as well!  We've been spending a TON of time outside, having later than normal bedtimes, and just enjoying this amazing weather.

This past Saturday (July 27th), we met a friend of mine and her daughter at one of our local state parks for a play-date.  None of us had been to the park before so we weren't sure exactly what to expect, but it definitely didn't disappoint.  Fort Harrison is a beautiful park and we can't wait to go back!

We all had a great time enjoying the beautiful day.  Surprisingly, my girls were asking to go to bed that evening around 6:30.  Around 7:00 we decided to head upstairs to read.  Both girls were passed out by 7:45 and I'm fairly certain it wasn't long after that I was asleep as well.   I love days like this!!!

The girls loved this slide!!!  They both probably went down it at least 30 times, if not more.

The only photo of the three of us that turned out somewhat decent.  Love these goofballs more than words can express!!!

For being such a tiny little thing, this girl is one strong cookie!

An attempt to get a photo of all three girls in the tree.  Didn't work so well.  If you look really closely, you can see Bella behind Alexis.  Regardless, I got a cute photo of my girls and Bella's mommy got a cute photo of her from a different angle.

And of course, a silly face photo!

This photo makes my heart smile.

Can't wait to go back!!!

Love of Learning....

Lately my girls are like little sponges.  The absorb everything and are constantly wanting to learn more.  I love it!  We probably go to the library two, if not three times every week.  They LOVE to read and can't get enough.  We just completed the summer reading program.....reading more than 4000 pages since the end of May.  We are very fortunate to have such an incredible library in our city that makes learning so fun.  I hope their love of reading continues!

(photo was taken while waiting to get their completion certificates for the summer reading program)

Another build and grow event.....

This past Saturday we attended another Build And Grow Event at our local Lowe's hardware store.  My girls absolutely LOVE these events.  They take such pride in knowing that they built something by themselves (or with mom and dad's help).  In their little eyes, they built it and they get all the credit.  We love these little clinics!  Hopefully, my girls will grow up to be more proficient with a hammer than I am!

Addison with her completed car.

Alexis with her race car.  Although you can see one of the stickers from the wheel is missing.  When she discovered the sticker had come off, you would of thought the world was coming to an end.

And my never ending attempts to get a photo of both of them.  This was the best I could do.

Coffee Table Fun.....

The amount of pretend play in our house lately has been off the charts. The imaginations of these two never ceases to amaze me. Most recently their My Little Ponies have been going on some interesting adventures. I love it when I catch them playing pretend. I also love it when they play together without fighting. Watching them become best friends every day just melts my heart!!

Ronald McDonald...

I think I have mentioned numerous time how great our local library is.  The girls attended another fabulous event last week.  They are still talking about story time with Ronald McDonald.  Sadly this was during the day and I was at work.  But I made sure that Terry took the camera.

The girls keep telling me how funny Ronald was.  The both want to learn how to juggle now.  Watching them try is hysterical!

Addison wasn't so sure about Ronald.

Alexis was in love with him.

Birthday Party Fun....

This past weekend the girls attended a birthday party for their BFF from pre-school.  They were super excited to go to Josie's 4th birthday party.

Josie's party had a Doc McStuffin theme.   If you are not familiar....Doc McStuffin is a toy doctor and runs a clinic in her playhouse.  Cute kids show that my girlies are totally into right now.  The girls brought their favorite stuffed animal to give a check up to.

The girls with Josie.

Coloring their Doc coloring sheet.

Josie's Mom had a cute little clinic set up for check ups.

Their surgical masks were slightly big, but still cute nonetheless.

And this is how my girls eat cupcakes....or should I say this is how my girls eat frosting?
